Traditional Bathroom

This property was built in the 1800's so the challenge waste to create a room in keeping with the building while providing all the amenities need in a modern bathroom. After the client contacted us we arrange a "Free Sit Survey" to ascertain the dimensions, water system and waste outlets. From there the customer arrange to call into our Louth Bathroom Showroom to go through the options and select samples to take home. We find viewing the samples in the room they will be fitted in is essential, this is because light and orientation can dramatically affect the look. Following the consultation the client paid a deposit and rearranged an installation date.

One of the problems that the "Free Sit Survey" highlighted was the asbestos waste pipe for the toilet. As this was the only toilet in the property we had to get our specialist asbestos removal team to remove this first thing in the morning which allowed our engineer to install the new plastic waste and get the toilet functional that afternoon.

From here our engineer stripped out the existing suite, tiles and dispose of all the rubbish. The Elements quadrant shower tray was the first item to go in, we did this on a legs to allow the pipework to run under the tray. Also the Lorenzo 1600mm bath waste first fixed in to place with its taps and waste. Also the pipework for the basin and radiator.

A travertine ceramic tile was picked for the walls with two rows of decorative mosaic to add a bit of colour. For the floor a wood effect tile was selected and offered a great contrast to the walls. To prepare the upstairs timber floor for tiling we used the No More Ply flooring reinforcement system. This system stops the tiles from moving and the grout cracking.

When the tiling was completed we installed the Aqualisa Quartz Electric shower. Aqualisa is a British company meaning they keep expensive stocks of spare parts in this county, so if you ever experience a problem you can get the spares you need to get you going within a couple of days.

The shower enclosure is a Roman Haven 900mm quadrant. This shower enclosure from another British company features quick release runners to allow easy cleaning, Ultra Clear and 6mm toughened safety glass. The seals will not last the life of the shower enclosure but to ensure continuity we supply the replacement seals and any other part needed
