For this ensuite a simple design was required to make the room feel as big as possible. To achieve this we began be completing a free bathroom survey so we can guide you on your options. This allowed us to create scale plans for the room and look at several options before settling on the final layout. With the layout confirmed we ran through the options for the products and set a start date.
To start our engineer removed the existing suite, tiles and dispose of all the rubbish. From there we first fixed the pipe work for the basin, toilet and heated towel rail. Also the shower tray was fitted and the floor reinforced to prepare for tiling. A cable was installed by our Part P Certificated electrician in the wall above the basin so an illuminated mirror could be fitted after tiling. To complete the first fix a stud section was created from floor to ceiling behind the shower. This was to allow for the shower pipework.
Matching floor and walls were select for this project. As this is an upstairs ensuite we needed to reinforce the floor and use Palace flexible tile adhesive. When tiling an upstairs floor it is essential to allow for the movement of the property. For the walls Palace Aqua-Tile was used because it is a water proof adhesive. To complete the tiling flexible ColourLock was used.
To finish the room the thermostatic mixer shower and kit went in. Then the Roman Haven 1200mm sliding shower door. This door has quick release runners making it easier to keep clean in our hard water area.
The basin went in next with the Spectre illuminated mirror from HIB. Next was the close coupled toilet with dual flush to save water. To finish the Redroom Elan chrome heated towel rail was installed.
