Shower room with storage
This renovation has the toilet in a separate room next to the shower room. The brief was to keep these two room separate but add storage to the shower room and a basin to the W/C. After completing a free bathroom survey we invited the client into the showroom to discuss the options. We produced scale drawing to help visualise the room and we lent samples of the finishes could be seen in the light of there room. Light can dramatically effect the look of tiles, panels and units. Once the layout had been finalised and finishes chosen we arranged a commencement date.
To begin our engineer removed the existing suite, tile and disposed of all the rubbish from both room. With the rooms clear we install a new waste pipe for the shower tray and first fixed the pipework for the shower, basin and heated towel rail. From there we fitted the Elements stone resin shower tray and easy clean waste. To complete the first fix we install "Tile Backer Boards" to reinforce the floor in preparation for tiling.
At this point we started tiling using a subtle Carrara effect tile for the walls. This keeps the feeling light and bigger than it is. To give a contrast a dark floor tile was selected to lift the room.
With the tiling finished we fitted the combination W/C with hand rinse basin. This innovative design is an excellent space saving design. To keep this room warm we added a 650 x 400mm Savoy heated towel rail in chrome.
In the shower room the Tavistock Match units were fitted. These feature a one piece worktop incorporating the basin. The Aqualisa Miads 110 column shower with a fixed and adjustable shower head was fitted. To complete the shower the Sommer Infold shower door and side panel went in because of its space saving design.
