For this project we were asked to create an ensuite in a bedroom. We began by completing a free survey to ascertain how much of the room could be used for the ensuite and where we could pick up the services for this room. As the room would not have a window in the client decided keep the colours light and neutral. We arrange for samples of the colours so the customer could spend a few weeks with the finishes, so they could get an idea in different lights. The Burlington Cloakroom unit was selected because it has a shallow depth while not conpremising the size of the basin. Once all of the products had been selected the client paid a deposit and we arranged a fitting date.
Our engineers began by lifting the carpet so we could access the subfloor to fit the cable for the electric shower. For the hot and cold pipe feeds and the waste we took the toilet out down stairs re-rooted the pipe work and refitted it. Next our engineers created the stud wall to divide up the room and fitted the new door frame and door. At this point our plasterer came in and skimmed the new walls and we fitted the skirting and architrave.
Our electrician also first fixed the cables for the electric only heated towel rail, illuminated mirror and light. After the items were installed he complete a Part P safety certificate to ensure the work is complete within the regulations.
Following the installation of services and the creation of the walls we were ready to begin fitting the en-suite. The shower tray and leg pack went in first to give us a solid surface to work from. From there the Mermaid shower wall panels were fitted from floor to ceiling inside the shower enclosure and half way round the rest of the room. This will allow the client to change the feeling of the room by painting the top half of the room.
The Aqualisa Lumi bring a touch of luxry to electric showers. Most eclectic showers are cheap white boxes that look unattractive on the wall. Aqualisa has created something different with the Lumi shower, featuring a mirrored glass fascia, sensory stop start control, anti twist hose connections, Aerospace grade brushed stainless steel temperature control and much more.
Romans Haven Bi-fold Doorwas selected for this en-suite becuase of the way it folds and saves space. With a ten year guarantee and spare parts easily available this door will be there for many years to come.
Burlingtons close coupled WC was used to keep with the traditional look while being compact to make the most of the room. The toilet may look like the past but it has the next generation of technology in it. To operate the dual flush on this toilet you push the lever down for a half flush and lift it up for the full flush. The pan has Nano Glaze meaning it stays cleaner and is easier to clean.
We install a Hugo electric only heated towel rail for airing off the towels. With a choice of five colours, dual fuel and electric only conversions this is the heated towel rail for all occasions.
To complete this renovation we fitted the HIB Vega 40 illuminated mirror, burlington accessories and toilet seat. To find our how we can help you create your dream en-suite call into one of our showrooms in Grimsby and Louth
